Aye, I've been busting my buttle trying to get The Genital Album finished. Brett stuff is on hold until then (although I will be playing a solo set w/ The Evangenitals and probably Fascinoma @ Mudpuppy Coffeehouse on May 6th). The record really is almost ready. The art has been sent to the cd people. Very stoked.

Nearly a year ago, the band recorded three great tracks with Blair Lamb but were never quite satisfied with the finished mixes. We'd been trying to get the tapes for months and figured we'd just have to settle on what we had for the LP. So here I am months later, in post-production, preparing to put a raggety bow on the record when, to my horror and delight, Blair hands over the original tapes. Suddenly there were three more songs to finish.

Yesterday I mustered up the courage to ask an old friend to play piano on one of these tracks. His name is Doug Legacy and he's played with some serious heavyweights in the biz (Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Billy Joel, etc). He was gracious and invited me over to record the next day. So I just call him up and he tells me, "Hey man, I totally forgot that I have to tune U2's piano for the Arrowhead Pond show tonight. It's totally sold out! Can we do it later?" "Why, sure Doug".

Hehe! That just about killed me. This guy is such a player that a huge gig like that just "slipped" his mind! I consider myself extremely blessed to know him.
